When is Ganesh Chaturthi celebrated?:
Ganesh Chaturthi every year begins on the Chaturthi Tithi of Shukla Paksha of Bhadrapada month according to the Hindu calendar. On this day, the idol of Bappa is placed inside home and and devotees worship and serve Lord Ganapati for 10 days. Laddus and modaks are offered to Ganapati Bappa. Aarti is performed in the morning and evening. On the 10th day, he is immersed and a prayer is offered to him “Bappa come again next year”.
Ganesh Chaturthi 2024 date and auspicious time:
In the year 2024, the Chaturthi Tithi of Shukla Paksha of Bhadrapada month will be from Friday 6 September 3:01 pm to Saturday 7 September 5:37 pm. Therefore, this ten-day festival of Ganesh Chaturthi will start on 7 September 2024 i.e. Saturday.
Auspicious time for Ganpati Puja: 7 September will be from 11:03 am to 1:34 pm.
What to offer to Ganpati:
According to the Puranas, Ganpati Bappa loves laddus and modaks very much. Ganpati Bappa used to eat laddus and modaks made by Mata Parvati. You can offer Besan ke Laddo or boondi laddus made in ghee to Ganpati Bappa with full devotion. You can offer modaks to Bappa. Offer anything to Ganpati Bappa with full devotion, it will definitely please him and you will receive Ganpati’s blessings.
Method of worshiping Ganapati:
On the day of Ganesh Chaturthi, wake up before sunrise and take a bath. After this, purify the house and temple with Gangajal. Bow down to Ganpati and place the idol of Ganpati and offer him sacred thread (Janeu) , Chandan, Deep , flowers, clothes, fruits. After this, worship Ganpati and offer him 21( Durva grass )during worship. Durva grass has great importance in Ganpati worship. Chant the mantra of Ganpati “Shri Ganeshaya Namah”. Offer modak and laddu to Lord Ganesha. At the end of the worship, do Bappa’s aarti and distribute prasad to everyone. Ganpati will bless you.
