NIELIT Ropar Campus got the title of Deemed to be University in 2024

National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology(NIELIT),Ropar under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology(MeitY), Government of India, has been conferred the status of an institution deemed to be university.

The Ropar campus is the main campus with its 11 constituent units at Aizwal , Agartala, Aurangabad, Calicut, Gorakhpur, Imphal, Itanagar, Kekri, Kohima, Patna and Srinagar. The NIELIT is the first organisation under MeitY to achieve the status of deemed to be university.

Ropar campus has launched 11 new courses which are Undergraduate , diploma , Post graduate and PHD courses.’ University is offering these courses in various emerging technologies with industry-led curriculum.

List of new courses offered by NIELIT :

Postgraduate Courses :

1.M.Tech in Artificial Intelligence – 18 seats

2.M.Tech in Data Engineering – 18 seats

3.M.Tech in Cyber Forensics and Information Security – 18 seats

4.M.Tech in Automotive Electronics – 18 seats

5. M.Tech in IOT and Sensor Systems – 18 seats

6. M.Sc. in Computer Science (with specialization in Data Science)- 40 seats

Degree/Diploma Programmes  :

1. B.Tech in computer science and engineering (AI/ML)- 60 seats
2. Diploma in Computer Science and Engineering – 60 seats

Ph.D Programmes :

1. Computer Science and Engineering
2. Computer Science and Applications
3. Electronics Engineering

1. Hostel Facilities : This university has two hostels separate for boys and girls with a minimum capacity of 160 students each.
