Assistive Technology : India’s Remarkable run at the Paralympic Games has been attributed to several factors like athlete classification, wider array of sports and use of Assistive Technology for Paralympians. Assistive technology in simple words is the use of things which is helps a challenged person which primarily focuses Paralympians.

What is Assistive Technology ?
Any type of product which is mechanical or electronic which aids any individual’s functioning with respect to his hearing , vision , communication are defined as assistive technology.
These aids can be anything like :
- Physical Products such as wheelchairs , eyeglasses , hearing aids , walking devices etc; which will help the athletes.
- Digital technologies or softwares that supports communication and time management.
How does Assistive Technology Help paralympians?
Paralympics held in 2024 and there were about 22 sports in which 4000 athletes are competing in 549 medal events.
Some sort of assistive technology was used in each event by the athletes with the most being used in Para Archery, Para athletics ,Para badminton , para judo etc.
India won most of the medals. It is the time of pride for Indians that the participants competed and didnt return empty hands. We all know our India is famous for its rich culture , tradition and victory in various games.
Paralympics made a way for the physically challenged to showcase their talents and skills.
